Can I join more than one firm on CounselPro?
Last updated
Each CounselPro login belongs to one firm. To work with a second firm, sign up with a plus-address like name+newfirm@yourdomain.com for a separate login.
One CounselPro login belongs to one firm. If you already belong to an account and try to accept an invite from another firm, CounselPro stops you with a Membership Limit Reached message rather than moving you or joining you to both.

How do I work with a second firm?
Use a separate login for the second firm, and the simplest way to make one is a plus-address. Most email works with a + tag: anything after the plus still lands in your inbox, but CounselPro treats it as a distinct address.
So if your email is jordan@yourdomain.com, you can sign up or accept the second firm's invite as:
jordan+whitfield@yourdomain.comfor one firmjordan+harper@yourdomain.comfor another
Each address is its own CounselPro login tied to its own firm, and both sets of email still reach you. You sign in with whichever address matches the firm you want to work in.
When a firm invites you, make sure they send the invite to the exact plus-address you plan to use, since an invitation only matches the address it was sent to. See why does my invitation email not match.
