How do I export what the chat found to a spreadsheet?

Last updated

Ask Daystrom to export the transactions and it hands back a spreadsheet, in both CSV and XLSX, ready to open in Excel or Google Sheets and give to an expert.

When Daystrom finds the transactions you want, you do not have to copy them by hand. Ask it to export them and it builds a spreadsheet you can open in Excel or Google Sheets and hand to an expert.

How do I get a spreadsheet out of the chat?

Ask Daystrom to export, download, or "get a spreadsheet of" the transactions you are looking at. For example: "Export every wire over 10,000 dollars" or "Download those transactions."

Daystrom builds the file and drops a download chip into the chat. The chip gives you the same data in two formats:

  • CSV, for a plain file that opens anywhere

  • XLSX, for a formatted Excel workbook

Each export carries a fixed set of columns: date, description, merchant, payee, amount, category, category detail, account number, account type, institution, account owner, source page, and the statement file. That way an expert can trace any row back to its statement.

Note

A download link does not last forever. If a chip shows that the file expired, just ask Daystrom to export it again and it builds a fresh one.

How is this different from the ledger export?

Both give you a spreadsheet. The chat export is best when Daystrom just found the exact set you want, since it exports whatever it pulled together in the conversation. The ledger export is best when you have already filtered the transaction table to the rows you want on screen. Use whichever is closer to the set you need.
