How do I choose a case type for the AI Forensic Analysis report?

The case type is a property of the project, not something you pick each time you run a report. You set it once, when you create the project, on the About the case step. The AI Forensic Analysis report then reads it, which is why the report can generate in one click instead of asking you the same questions again.

What does the case type change about the report?

It picks the sections. Each type carries its own suggested set, so the report arrives already pointed at what that kind of matter turns on:

• Family Law starts with income, spending patterns, asset tracing, lifestyle and standard of living, related party transactions, and a forensic timeline.

• Bankruptcy leans toward transfers, eligibility, and the movement of assets before a filing.

• General Analysis, the default, runs a broad read of the money with no matter-specific frame.

It also frames the analysis itself. The detail fields you filled in travel with the case, so a separation date or a filing date gives the report a line to reason against instead of just early and late in the record.

Which case types can I pick?

General Analysis, Family Law, Bankruptcy, Civil Litigation, Probate, Business Dispute, Medicaid, Immigration, and Business Acquisition. Every project has exactly one, and it is General Analysis until you change it.

Can I change the case type after I have run a report?

Yes. Change it on the project Overview tab, in the Case card, then regenerate the report so the new frame is applied. A report already on screen does not rewrite itself when the case changes.

Remember that the detail fields belong to the type, so switching the type clears them. Fill the new ones in before you regenerate.

Can I override the sections the case type picked?

Yes, without changing the case type. Click Customize report instead of Generate report and drag sections in or out for that run, and add overall instructions for what the whole report should weigh. See how to generate a report.
