# How is Daystrom different from Insights and the AI Forensic Analysis report?

> CounselPro gives you three ways to get answers from a project: the live Daystrom chat, ready-made Insights views, and the written AI Forensic Analysis report.

CounselPro has three ways to pull findings out of a project, and they are good at different things. Once you know which is which, you will reach for the right one without thinking about it.

## When should I use each one?

- **Daystrom**, when you have a specific question. It is live and interactive, so you ask, it answers from your real data, and you follow up. Best for "show me every wire over 10,000 dollars" or "chart their income." See [what Daystrom is](https://www.counselpro.ai/docs/category/analysis-agent).
- **The Insights tab**, when you want the common views without asking. It has ready-made breakdowns like income over time, spending by category and merchant, [statement coverage](https://www.counselpro.ai/docs/find-missing-statements), duplicates, and anomalies. Best for a fast scan of what is in the project.
- **The AI Forensic Analysis report**, when you need a written narrative. It is a one-time document with sections you can edit and [export to Word](https://www.counselpro.ai/docs/category/ai-analysis). Best when you want a draft of the financial story to build a filing around.

## How do they work together?

They are not competing. A common path is to open the Insights tab to see the shape of the money, generate the AI Forensic Analysis report for a written summary, then use Daystrom to chase down the specific questions the report raises. Daystrom can even read the report and help you rewrite a section.

> **Note:** Insights and the AI Forensic Analysis report both summarize the whole project at once. Daystrom answers one question at a time, but it can go deeper on any of them.

If you are brand new to a project, the [getting started guide](https://www.counselpro.ai/docs/getting-started-with-counselpro) walks you through all three in order.
